I think this change is more beneficial for Facebook than users. Because after this change brands & publishers will move towards paid ads, more paid ads mean more revenue for Facebook. Basically, they aim two goals at the same time, users will get more opportunities to reach their loved ones, and Facebook will get more revenue.
